Manifest the Runway

On April 11, the Adrian College Fashion Department will host a fashion show titled “Manifest the Runway.” The event will begin at 7 pm in the Adrian Tobias Room, with free entry for everyone.

A stylist for the show, Emily McGeorge, said, “The runway is a showcase of all the hard work the fashion department has done this semester. We have worked hard to put together the best looks of Adrian College to showcase the essence of what fashion looks like within our community. We hope the runway encourages our student body to manifest their own unique style.”

Guests can expect to see looks from categories; Conscious Collection, Breakfast without Tiffany, Dancing through the Decades and Barely Beige. With no budget for the show, everything featured has been resourced and styled by the closets of students at Adrian College. There will be pieces such as altered thrifted clothing, beaded jackets, street wear, business wear, etc.

Associate Professor Vincent Yu said, “To manifest is to make a vision come true, it is the ultimate method of bringing a desire into reality.” The name Manifest originated when the fashion department began Manifest the Magazine. Guests can find copies of the magazine at the show.

Meika Hinkle-Degroot, a fashion student, said, “Putting together Manifest The Runway has been such an incredible opportunity to combine everything we’ve been learning into a showcase for our community. We’re so excited to see it all come together and share what we’ve been working on with the Adrian College Campus.”
