Back To School

Welcome back Bulldogs as we have already kicked off the Spring 2022 semester on a good note. Adrian College is able to remain open and continue in person learning as everybody is continuing COVID-19 struggles. Despite all of the obstacles, the campus continues to follow the necessary protocols and guidelines pertaining to sickness as a whole. These and other types of measures will continue to be enforced in order to protect the health and safety for all Adrian College staff and students.

Another positive to the new year is the ability to continue with all of the current sporting events constantly happening throughout the semester. The institution and the Athletic Department have updated the 2022 COVID-19 policy for home athletic events. They are recommending that all spectators wear a face covering in and around the athletic event. Regardless of vaccination status, this is suggested at any events held at Merillat Sport and Fitness Center as well as Arrington Ice Arena. Social distancing is also encouraged to reduce the possible spread of the virus from person to person.

Many of the sports teams have excelled already in the new school year against some pretty big rival teams. The Men’s basketball team took two back to back wins during the beginning of the month, one against Kalamazoo College and the other against Alma College. The Women’s Basketball team also got back to back wins this month against Olivet College and Kalamazoo College. If you feel like going to support your fellow bulldogs, the Men’s Basketball team plays home again on January 29th at 3 pm against Calvin University. As well as, the Women’s Basketball following @7:30 pm against the same team.

The Men’s Wrestling team defeated Springfield College in a close match on Jan. 6. The following day the Women’s Wrestling team went home with a match win against Limestone University. To catch their last home meet, and senior night before Nationals, head to the Merillat on Feb. 8 to support the dawgs. Time for that meet is still to be determined.

Students are just getting into the swing of classes for this semester after having an almost month long Christmas break. However, it won’t be long before another time to breathe happens as Spring Break is right around the corner. For those who may not know, this year’s Spring Break begins on February 25th at 5 pm and ends on March 7th at 7:30 am. Safe travels for anybody that does not plan on staying on campus for the break.

As far as Spring Break, there is some curiosity of destinations for the students on campus. Zach Salters, Adrian College student, said “Bass Master Classic is definitely a possibility and if not then probably go bass fishing on my own” when explaining his spring break plans. Zach is well known from this as well as being a second year Resident Assistant of Davis Hall in the freshman quad.
