Students who graduated from Adrian College in the spring and fall of 2020 are being given another opportunity to don their caps and gowns. The 2020 commencement ceremonies have been rescheduled for this upcoming spring. According to the Adrian College website, the rescheduled ceremony will take place on May 1st, 2021. This will be just one day before the Spring 2021 graduates walk across the stage.
By ceremony day, some students will have been graduates for a whole year. The originally scheduled commencement ceremony was postponed due to restrictions on gathering size amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Although there were previous attempts to reschedule, regulations prevented them.
2020 Graduates are excited to finally walk across the stage. Among those graduates is a biology and environmental science double major, Brad Pfister. He expressed his gratitude for the administration’s efforts to hold a ceremony, admitting he never thought it would happen.
“The pandemic has brought many ups and downs, but having the opportunity to walk for graduation is a huge moment for both the class of 2020 and 2021,” says Pfister.
Administration has put their best foot forward to create the most normal college experience possible during the pandemic. These efforts will hopefully lead Adrian College back to life prior to COVID-19. Getting Commencement on the books hopefully will help restore a sense of normalcy to campus.
